Susan Ward, division sales manager for the West region of the Mars Wrigley dedicated c-store headquarter team at Advantage Solutions, was named one of the 2024 Top Women in Convenience by Convenience Store News in recognition of her work in the c-store channel.
Ward was singled out as a senior-level leader by the Top Women in Convenience awards program, which recognizes the integral role women play in convenience retailing and honors recipients from the retailer, wholesaler and supplier communities.
“I was extremely flattered and surprised when I received the notification of the award,” she says. “I know and have worked with several of the past winners, and I’m incredibly honored to be mentioned in their company.
“This award is a symbol of the collective effort put forth by my team and the unwavering support from my loved ones. I would also like to say that mentorship is a priceless gift, and I appreciate the mentors I’ve had throughout my longer than 34-year career who played a crucial role in my development within the CPG industry.”
In her role, Ward is responsible for the overall management of her assigned markets, which include most of the western portion of the U.S. (including direct responsibility for more than 120 c-store chains and 46 c-store distributors).
“I’ve worked with Susan for over 22 years and during that time she’s demonstrated impeccable leadership and a drive for results,” says Michael Davis, senior director of sales and Susan’s direct supervisor. “I think her most admirable quality is her servant-leader approach to managing her people. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.”
This year’s Top Women in Convenience award winners will be celebrated at Convenience Store News’ special event in Las Vegas October 8, during the National Association of Convenience Stores’ annual NACS Show.
